Port of Buena Ventura, a Colombian city on the Pacific Ocean, was in the past the main port and embarkation center for goods from Europe and Asia facing and directed to the Spanish ports. Immersed in wild and unspoiled nature, the Pacific coast of Nueva Granada has long been uninhabited and at the mercy of dangerous gangs of pirates.
Bahia contains the essences the vessels were laden with that sailed in these troubled waters: precious loads of spices, ointments, fruits and plants, unknown to Europe, and for this reason sought after and desired by all European courts.
