Rick Owens

Rick Owens, a Californian designer, born in 1962, could be defined as the philosopher par excellence of the dark-experimental style. The success of the brand, founded in 1994, is due to the ability to create garments with gothic, provocative, and autobiographical cuts as well as the skill in the unscrupulous use of materials such as leather, jersey, and wool that can make each piece unique, bold and full of mystery. The popularity of the brand increased in 2002, when a photo of Kate Moss, dressed in a jacket designed by Rick Owens, was chosen for a photoshoot for Vogue Paris soon coming to the attention of the director of Vogue America, Anna Wintour, who decided to promote the designer at the shows of New York Fashion Week and later convinced him to accept the challenge of the Parisian catwalks. Rick Owens soon became French by adoption, deciding to move to Paris to accept the role of artistic director of Revillon, becoming to all intents and purposes a big name in the fashion system.
